Pyongyang, December 1 (KCNA) — Recently the Singaporean Straits Times issued an article confirming Israel’s access to nukes, attracting the attention of the international community.

According to it, in 1969 the then U.S. President Nixon at the talks with the then Israeli Prime Minister Golda Meir concluded a secret agreement to the effect that the U.S. would connive at Israel’s nuclear capability and give up the pressure upon it to accede to the NPT [Non-Proliferation Treaty] on condition that Israel would make public its nuclear capability as it pleased. It was reported that the successive U.S. presidents including the present Obama administration have kept the agreement in top secrecy. Since then Israel has pursued a NCND policy regarding its access to nukes.

This is clear evidence bringing to light Israel’s nuclear development and the injustice of the double standard applied by the U.S. over the nuclear issue.

Israel’s possession of nukes has long been a major topic of discussion by the international community.

From late in the 1940s Israel kicked off its nuclear program in secrecy and tried hard to acquire technology for the manufacture of nuclear weapons. During the Third Middle East War it possessed 15 nuclear warheads and in the1980s their number reached 200. It was reported to have stockpiled hundreds of tons of substance needed for the production of nukes. As a result, Israel has become the world’s sixth largest possessor of nukes.

It was none other than the U.S. which zealously helped Israel go nuclear both technically and materially and protected and connived at it.

After deciding to give “aid” to Israel in its nuclear development, the U.S. sent nuclear-physicists to it. And the U.S. delivered highly enriched uranium to Israel, putting spurs to its nuclear development.

The world is making uproar over Israel’s access to nuclear weapons and nuclear proliferation but the U.S. has connived at it. The U.S. did the same when this year the British Guardian revealed the fact that in the 1970s the governments of Israel and South Africa held secret talks and a deal in nukes.

Even the U.S. diplomatic chief said that the biggest concern in the world is terrorists’ possible access to substance for the manufacture of nuclear bombs, adding that Israel is able to do a lot to prevent this.

Encouraged by the U.S., Israel went the lengths of asserting that there is no reason for the international community to pressurize it over the nuclear issue. It grumbled that some countries are threatening Israel’s existence.

This goes to prove that the U.S. is the accomplice and helper of Israel in its nuclear weaponization.

The U.S. is pulling up those countries which incur its displeasure over their nuclear activities for peaceful purposes and labeling them “nuclear criminals” while conniving, patronizing and cooperating with its “allies” and followers’ nuclear weaponization. Typical examples of this are the U.S. attitude towards the DPRK and Iran.

Needless to say, this stand and attitude of the U.S. are no more than a double standard, a serious breach of the principle of impartiality in the nuclear field.

Meanwhile, the U.S. is giving spurs to the modernization of nukes.

Recently the U.S. conducted a sub-critical nuclear test under the pretext of “ensuring the security of nuclear arsenal” and it is set to spend 4 billion U.S. dollars for the modernization of nuke facilities.

The ulterior motive of the Obama administration professing “a world without nuclear weapons” was brought to light by its nuclear tests and scenario for the modernization of nuke production, a violation of its advocacy.

The U.S. plan to build “a world without nuclear weapons” is nothing but a smokescreen to cover up its ambition for world domination based on nukes and deceive the world people.

It is another hideous crime against humankind that the U.S., the world’s biggest possessor of nukes and a nuclear war criminal, is persistently pursuing its nuclear scenario.

No one is allowed to high-handedly and arbitrarily behave and has any right to apply a double standard in the nuclear field.

The U.S. is wholly to blame for the nuclear threat and the danger of nuclear proliferation mounting worldwide.

[End.]
